Sport-specific safety locks

Pain, fatigue and enjoyment lock

Risk: Recurring pain, rapid growth, sleep disruption, fear or declining enjoyment.

Action: Stop load progression, record a safety observation and speak with the child.

Refer to an appropriate health professional if symptoms persist and await explicit clearance to return.

Safeguarding and boundaries

Risk: Unsafe adult conduct, bullying, privacy violations or coercion.

Action: Safely remove the child and start the dedicated safeguarding incident workflow.

Escalate to the safeguarding lead and, when required, authorities according to P0–P4 triage.

Fall, collision and ice safety

Action: Separate the ice area, inspect equipment and use safe fall/landing instruction.

Stop activity and obtain health review for head impact, laceration, pain or functional loss.

Action: Stop weight targets and begin a safe, private, non-judgmental conversation.
