Frequently asked questions
Why does Bayley-Pinneau need bone age?
It uses skeletal maturation. If bone age differs from chronological age, adult-height prediction can change substantially.
Who should interpret the bone-age X-ray?
Hand-wrist X-rays should be interpreted in radiology and pediatric endocrinology context. AI or table output does not replace a clinical report.
What does advanced bone age mean?
Advanced bone age may suggest earlier growth-plate maturation. It should be reviewed by a clinician.
Is delayed bone age always bad?
No. Some children have constitutional growth delay, but chronic disease, nutrition and hormonal causes should be considered.
How should I read the Bayley-Pinneau result?
Read it with measurement quality, the bone-age report, growth velocity and agreement with other methods.
